Interpreting Infrared Images
Infrared diagnostics, or thermal imaging, are an essential component of a thorough, whole-house energy audit. Analyzing each component of a home that is prone to air leakage, we are able to assess with our state-of-the-art infrared cameras where the most substantial air leaks are occuring, and determine where insulation in walls and attics has settled over time, was missing to begin with, or where it may have been improperly installed in the first place.
The insights given by a thermal scan during a home energy audit allow us to target the most cost-effective potential improvements to your home -- from an energy standpoint, comfort standpoint, and cost standpoint -- so your home upgrades achieve the greatest Return on Investment possible.
These infrared images, taken during a whole-house energy audit, are intended to shine some light on the infrared diagnostic process, as well as give you an idea of where energy waste most frequently occurs in typical North American homes.
